Tuesdays Bite the Big One
Today at work is uneventful which is no surprise b/c I know my shit and it's become extremely repitive.
Amaya and Brandi (her friend) both got hit by a car last night. Although she says she'll be fine, I don't like to think that I can't be there for her since she lives so far away. She's all hopped up on Percoset and wasn't really with it today but is still managing to keep a pretty good attitude about everything. Does this girl suffer from bad luck? I don't know but she's been through a lot. I would probably end up perishing in some bizarre way if I hung out with her just b/c weird things always happen to her... but I have to admit it would all be worth it just to see her once. What can I say? I love her.
I taught her how to break into a door using a credit card over the phone yesterday which was pretty funny. Probably shouldn't be teaching people how to do that but it's not that hard to figure out anyways. Knowing her, she'll probably have a neighbor call up the police and end up taking one in the ass when everything is said and done.
Yesterday, I had dinner with my cousins and family from Oregon at this shitty Italian restaurant called Macaroni. I think it's some chain restaurant that I've never heard of. But what the fuck? Who names an Italian place Macaroni? Well, the name was as cheesy as the atmosphere, service, drinks and food. What a typical place for Naperville and the rest of suburbia. It's amazing how I really do hate Naperville and that newly manufactured "culture" they call society. Just b/c you play stereotypical italian opera and serve spaghetti doesn't make you an Italian restaurant. I hate when places try to cheapen what should be a great experience. Well, enough of the outlash on the far west burbs, they have to live there, not me.
My cousins Beth and Sarah are way cool but they're probably way liberal seeing that they're from Eugene, OR. Not that I mind with the liberal stuff just as long as they aren't too pushy with the views. They seem like they would give you the silent treatment if they were angry before they would confront anyone on how they felt. I could be totally wrong since that's the first time I've seen them in about 10 years. Beth has got the coolest hair and it's too bad that more women don't style it that way. She's got that dark red, auburn hair that goes down to the small of her back. It's slightly wavy and she wears the whole cut with bangs. It's amazing b/c her hair is that natural color too. If I try to describe the style, it doesn't sound all that cool and that's b/c only a select few could pull it off so good for her for being one of the few.
I'm training Courtney today at work. I better get that fuckin' promotion. The shit is wearing thin on me around here.
One other thing, I can't believe Tia hasn't thanked me for that message that I wrote to her when she was going to take that other job. I really put a lot of time to express what a great friend and colleague she's been over the past 3 years and she hasn't even acknowledged it to me yet. That one isn't settling with me all that well, especially b/c she's back working as the dep't head. I don't know, the whole situation has been weird.
