Low-End Weekend
Nothing too great this weekend. Friday night consisted of my roommate and I enjoying Friday night cocktails in the upstairs bar while doing a little cleaning. Somehow, I still didn't make it to bed until around 3 or 3:30. Sat morning, woke up at 10 to my roommate telling me that he was off to the Cubs game with the fam. I came out to meet them in my sleepy state right before they departed. I decided to grab a cup of coffee that my roommate had left behind. Usually no big deal for anyone else but the last time I had coffee was about 5 years ago. It made me feel sick to my stomach and extremely anxious. I was feeling these effects over at the paint store while I picked out some samples for the walls downstairs and harrassed the guy about what cleaners would work best for the hardwood floors. It came down to the cleaners that would do the least damage to my floor. I asked the guy why I couldn't just get a cleaner that would clean the floor, as opposed to a bunch of chemicals that are going to strip the finish off the floor. He said something about how the chemicals needed to break down the gunk on the floor first before you cleaned it all up. I told him that I didn't have a bunch of oil rig workers over to party after 3rd shift, all I needed was something that would keep the shine while I cleaned up some old beer. In the end, I decided that water with a little elbow grease still works best. That night, headed to Tango Sur with my roommate's gf, cousin, uncle and aunt. All really cool and the food was awesome. I had the Bife Vesuvio, I could go for it right now it was so good. Definitely don't have it if you're on a first date. Too much garlic if you want to make a move later on. Went home afterwards and people came in and out of my place while we had cocktails in the upstairs until about 6:30 Sunday morning. I was still able to make it up for Bears kickoff at noon over at Nick's where we proceeded to eat ourselves in a coma while we stared at football the whole day. It was awesome!
