Wavy Weekend

This weekend, I invited some friends up to the Michigan house. There was quite the group of culprits. We had Nick, Swifty, Mike, Chris, Pat, Holly, Jules, Lauren, Lynny and myself. Both Chris' and my parents were there as well. The p's are key for a good weekend since they don't mind cooking and they're all great in the kitchen.

My bro got up there on Thurs afternoon to do an early round of golf. I drove Jules and I up there that night, we got in at around 2 in the morning. Little late but I would have rather been up there that night than drive the next morning. Everyone else got up there throughout the rest of Friday except for Chris' family who all got up there on Sat. The waves were crashing on Friday and Sunday (although Sundays waves were huge). I stayed out there everyday in the water and hardly came in which led to a very sunburnt self. Everyone at work is asking me what happened over the weekend. The girl next to me asked "Eric, were you in the sun this weekend?" I was thinking "Well, how did you ever reach that conclusion, Detective Douche". Instead I answered "Yes" with a look of disgust on my face. Then she asked "Were you outside?". I promptly responded "I actually got sunburnt hanging out in a cellar all weekend". Maybe not the nicest respone but I am a firm believer that most stupid questions are indeed asked by stupid people. And she annoys the fuck out of me so who cares.

The weekend was beautiful weather and a great time. No real good stories to tell from it. Just a lot of good company and down time to relax. I think Lauren got the wrong idea about this weekend. I invited her thinking fun weekend in mind while I think she was thinking I invited her up for a romantic getaway and so she could meet my parents b/c I'm taking the relationship to the next level. Hmmm, I didn't really think that one through good enough and now I've dug myself somewhat of a hole. I think she's so fun and great to hang around with but she's hard to digest all at once. She has a very in your face personality which really works for some people and I like that sometimes. But I need my space as well and I need someone to know when they've crossed over the line with me when I start to feel uncomfortable. But she doesn't get it. In fact, she woke me up out of a dead sleep on Sat night twice just to ask me questions. I think I said some pretty nasty stuff to her then but I really can't remember. I just remember being really upset that she woke me up and that it wasn't a good time to discuss anything. She means well though so she's easy to forgive where most people I wouldn't let that slide.

But, the one thing that drove me crazy this weekend was that Jules was being a complete bitch to Lauren and especially Lynny. Jules has pulled the anti-female friend shit before and it driven me crazy. She's such a mega-bitch around other girls. Lauren was trying everything to be nice to her and she just completely gave her attitude. Needless to say I'm upset with Jules and don't see her being invited back in the near future. I'm not dealing with the Eric version of Kitty ever. When you invite everyone up to your summer place, everyone is supposed to make an effort to hang out and get along. Jules was not playing along and dragged Holly into being a bitch with her.

Basically, here are other events that didn't help Jules attitude...
1. Nick hooked up with Lynny -- Jules is still obsessed with Nick even though she has a bf and Nick has made it extremely clear that he doesn't want to be anything more than friends
2. Jules tried to hookup with Pat and got shut down pretty hardcore -- what better way to take out your bad mood than on someone else?
3. Not enough attention on Jules -- I don't think this princess likes sharing the spotlight
4. Alcohol -- does any drama ever get resolved when fueled by abundant amounts of alcohol? No, as we all know, drama gets magnified with the addition of alcohol

I hate to have this entry focused around this negative aspect of the weekend but if it wasn't for that, it just would have been a good time.

What else happened or did I learn?
- I think Mike hooked up with Lynny on Sat
- I got head on the beach Friday night which was very cool (Nick left for Detroit on Sat afternoon)
- I found out that Nick hooked up with Kate the weekend before from Holly (Jules doesn't know and Nick didn't even tell me - I think he's scared I'll tell Jarmon and that will piss him off) -- still a little shady
- I learned how to play Mexican dominoes -- I will be buying that game soon
- Psycho Amaya texted me a half dozen times on Thursday night
- Don't take the skyway going back to Chicago since it goes from 3 lanes to 1 at one point, that's bullshit for the $2.50 I have to pay to ride that fucker
- Big waves come in sets of 3 or 4 followed by about 9 or 10 small waves
- A good sunset on the beach is one of the most beautiful sights you can experience
- Colleen (C's gf) is so nice but a little unadventurous and a bit boring (what is he doing?)
- Collecting wood for the bonfire at the beach is annoying -- there has to be a better way of getting wood down there
- I was driving home and stuck in traffic when a huge grasshopper decided to jump on the hood of the car. It was about 2.5 inches long which was pretty impressive. It was fun to watch while stuck until it tried to crawl down under the hood. I used the wipers to try to fling him off the car. When he got flung off, instead of flying away he flew back in the car and landed on my face. It's embarrassing but I pretty much freaked out (heebee jeebees all over the place) flailing my hands all over the place. I think he landed somewhere else in the car but couldn't find him when I got home
- Having sunburnt lips sucks big time. I think I have Fat Albert lips.
- I think I burnt my eyeballs too... is that even possible?

Well, I am fucking exhausted today and I have tennis class after work. Bobby the teacher says there's hot chicks in the class at my level so that would be a plus. That will keep me motivated as well.
