Guy Who Beats Girl and the Girl Who's OK With It

Weekend Recap time... going backwards for a change of pace.

Monday: It's fucking Monday, how good could it have been? I had tennis after work at Daley Bicentennial just east of Millenium Park. It's always nice on Mondays b/c there's live jazz that's played at the new bandshell just next to the courts. Class went well. Bobby said I'm at a 3.5 moving towards a 4.0. So I played a match afterwards against this guy Paul. Although I felt confident in my game going in, Paul proved to me that I still had a lot of things to work on. In a embarrassing defeat of 6-2, 6-1 the score did not dictate the way I played. Many of the games were tight and went to deuce but I got edged out. This guy did have great placement, although, when I fired away on him, he had a hard time handling the forehand. I rolled my ankle before the match as well which didn't help my mobility.

Sunday: Nothing. I slept or rested all day. I was such a bum. Sat night took it out of me.

Saturday: Went to this comedy show at the Chicago Theater on State. Everyone knows where that is b/c Balky and his cousin used to live across from there in the all time classic, Perfect Strangers. This show had an all star cast for this improv olympic style formate. There was Andy Richter, Tim Meadows, Mike Myers, Andy Dick, Rachel Dratch, Horatio Sans, a bunch of other SNL people and a bunch of other Improv Olympic people. Now, one would think you would be rolling in the aisles for a couple hours. Well, within the first few minutes of the show, the mics stopped working so they stopped the show to fix that for almost an hour. Then, the balcony seats couldn't get sound so they all took off and got their refund. But the best part was is that I wish I could have got a refund b/c I didn't laugh once the entire time. It was the stupidest shit I had ever seen and by the first intermission, I was out the fucking door getting people on the horn for an after hours at my place. I was ready to drink the misery away.

We had about 15-20 people over, it was a nice size. Jarm hooked up with this one girl "J" who was real cute but as soon as he got her pants off, he said he was waiting for a disco ball to turn on somewhere in the room b/c what appeared before him was a serious case of 70s jungle bush. Damn, that really sucks that a woman in this day and age doesn't at least trim the hedges down there.

I ended up staying up so late that by the time everyone left I just cleaned up and then watched the sunrise on the rooftop. As amazing as the sunrise was, I couldn't help but feel guilty about partying until that late. Those days really have to stop. I hope that the end of the summer will help me curb some of my behavior over the past couple months.

Friday: Met up with Swifty at his place and then went to a bday party for my college buddy, Ben, at Zellas. Then my brother and I took off and met some people over at Moonshine. I don't what it is about that place, but the women there are always hot. Well, afterwards, my bro and I headed to Club Foot where we were met up by Jarm who was completely wasted. He had gone to the Bears game and then the boats where he won a bunch of money. Jarm started buying rounds of shots, everyone was in good spirits. After Club Foot closed, our natural progression was to go hunting for burritos... what a great drunk food.

But you know, nothing can ever just be a peaceful night anymore. I don't know if this shit just follows me around but of course something had to happen on the way back. So we were walking home and I saw this girl who was pinned against a wall by this guy who was yelling right in her face. By the way it looked, they seemed to know each other but he was just going off, calling her a bitch, a cunt, everything under the sun.

So as we walked by, I sort of stopped and told him to stop talking to the girl like that and to keep it fucking down. Of course, he wanted to get all hard about it so he's saying things like "I'll do whatever the fuck I want", "who the fuck are you?", "your just pissed b/c you guys don't have girls", whatever. He said "Why don't you guys get the fuck out of here?" And basically I made it clear that as long as he was outside, he's making it anybody's business and now I wasn't going to leave. Then he threatened to beat me up... of course.

So my roommate said "What, are you going to beat all three of us up?" Now, keep in mind, my roommate and I are both over 6'1" and pretty big guys and this guy was maybe 5'10" and probably weighed in at a buck eighty. So this is how big of a pussy this guy is (and this is how you always know if someone is scared). He goes after my brother who is by far the smallest guy... 5'10", just over 160. So this guy pushes my brother real hard and as soon as he touched him my hand cocked back and nailed him across the face. In that situation, if you really are a crazy mother fucker, you always go after the biggest guy to let people know you just don't give a fuck but this guy was the real deal pussy. So he starts retreating b/c now we're all walking towards him. Of course, again, being the true vagina that he is, pulls his girlfriend in front of him as he's backing up. So we're not out there to kill anyone or anything so some more words were exchanged. But at one point, he turns to her and says "I'll talk to you however I want, right?" And she's says while she's crying "Yes". And then he's like "I call you what I want, when I want and that's ok, right?" And she says "Yes". That's when I knew we just needed to get the fuck out of there. She was just as stupid as he was. So he came after us again and finally, one of his friends came out of a house and grabbed but while he was going away, I just ended it, as anyone should being in this predicament, by chanting "Jer-ry, Jer-ry".

It really never ceases to amaze me how stupid people are. That guy was a complete abusive asshole and that girl was just willing to take it. How could you have such a lack of dignity to let yourself be treated like that. I just don't get it. However, I'm not going to discount it, I will admit, I was never raised in those conditions or exposed to that either. That may have a lot to do with it.

I told that story to a couple people and they asked me why did I jump into that situation. Are you fucking kidding me? How could you ignore it? He looked like he was going to kick the shit out of her. No matter what a dumbass she may be, he still doesn't have the right to hit her. And what the fuck, was I suppose to call the police and wait for them to get there an hour later after the girl had already been curb stomped? What's the point of that? I'm not saying it was smart to do that, but you have to possess some kind belief in right/wrong. I think a lot of people out there say they are willing to do what's right but when push comes to shove, they would rather ignore those issues and hope they go away rather than back up in what they believe in. Sometimes that mentality gets me in trouble but I guess I'm just the type of guy that sticks to my guns at all costs. I wouldn't have it any other way.
