Friday night drink and drip

Got a cocktail, smoking a cig, got a drip and Hernan Cattaneo spinning some beats. Very nice chill Friday night. Calm before the storm tomorrow.

I'm starting to enjoy the bullet point format (I have a couple people that inspired that one) so I'll commence in that fashion (and it cuts down on segues) [did I spell that right?]

-Roommate just left for Cubby Bear (ugh) to meet up with some of the lamest girls. Sometimes I don't understand him, why hang out with people when you know it's going to be bad company? His redeeming factor was he left here dressed as Mr. Incredible, too fucking hilarious b/c that costume is perfect for him. And I'm sure he just wants to get the mileage out of that outfit. Prediction for him, he comes back here with the lames, they stay up too late and maybe he touches one of them where they pee. That would still be no sale for me. The majority of them are that painful to hang out with.

-Exorcist III is on too. Hands down one of the best horror flicks around. Most people haven't even seen it. They think it's the new one that came out a couple years ago. But I have to explain it's the old one from the 90 or 91 with the dad from Gimme A Break and Patrick Ewing even has a cameo as an angel. OK, I'm not doing a good job selling that movie in the least, but believe me, it's worth the watch at this time of year. Speaking of horror flicks, I did rent that french horror flick, High Tension, so I'm going watch that before bed tonight. I swear, the girl I end up with is going to have to love horror flicks or psychological thrillers. I just bought that book, American Psycho, b/c I thought that movie was fucking great and I'm obsessed with 80s high society.

-Work's been tough lately. I think that's what mainly had me down for awhile, that is, this learning curve adjustment. I've been on the private side for so long that this switch to the public side is a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. I'll get it, I just have to be patient with myself. But it's tough being that new guy all over again. No one wants to sit with you at lunch, people knock files out of my hands in the hallway, guys throw pennies at me, I don't go to the bathroom during the day b/c I know some guy's going to flush my head in the toilet (Good thing that recycling bin is right under my desk). OK, obviously it's not like that but people are always sizing you up and you're doing the same, it's a funny game in the corporate world.

-I watched some of the Sox rally downtown today, it was going on about 2 blocks west of me so I had to go over and at least take a peek. I watched the rest of it at the office this afternoon. I'm a Sox fan but it was really crazy to see all the white trash that invaded the Loop today. It was a little confusing though, I didn't know who to give change to when I was going to the el.
